Side characters that say the weirdest things in conversations with your sidekicks are hilarious to follow. Each and every person and robot has a lot of personality. Hi-Fi RUSH has more personality than most games combined | From the main character Chai, to support characters or enemies. You really have to see it, as reading about it somehow feels less impressive. The thing that is massively impressive is how everything is synced with the music, how Chai walks, how support characters join your fight, blocking, small visual details in the environments, and Chai’s finger-snapping. From licensed to originally created music, everything sounds great and you’ll be moving your head up and down while Chai is exploring the levels or fighting against not-so-friendly robots. A soundtrack to kill for and everything is synced to the rhythm! | The game started with the Black Keys one of my favorite bands that I’m going to see at Rock Werchter later this year. One thing that Hi-Fi Rush does fantastically is the transitions from cutscenes to gameplay, unlike anything I have seen before. Effects during combat are once again colorful but never seem out of place. Levels regularly open up with large skylines of the world. Anyway, the environments aren’t really large but the scope can be impressive. First time I saw such realistic-looking ball lick animations and in general cat animations. Especially the cute cat is a show stealer too. Everything is butter smooth with realistic movements of Chai. Animation wise I don’t think I’ve ever seen a game do better than Hi-Fi RUSH. Colors pop out beautifully and the environments feel truly alive, because of the simple reason that everything seems to move with the beat of the music. What a great-looking game! | What a stunning-looking cell-shaded game, gorgeous! It has a bit of a Sunset Overdrive feeling but it is best described as a playable anime.Your full party and moveset will make this no problem at all for easier difficulties, but you may still struggle with the newly unlocked rhythm master, so consider saving these for after you've earned the rest of the upgrade. If you played on normal and expected the achievement for playing on easy also popped, you are out of luck, you do need to play every track on easy. To prove just how seriously these different difficulties treat their ratings, go check your achievements. There will be no ratings at all for the difficulties above or below your previous difficulty. In other words, you will only have letter ratings for the difficulty you beat the game on. Your first reaction may be that you now have a bunch of ratings you can try to improve, and while that is a nice goal to aim for, you should also notice that your ratings for each difficulty are kept separate. When selecting your track, take a quick note of the ratings you've earned for all the stages. Of course, if you're going through the process of replaying each track, you may as well do everything now available to you. You will now be allowed to complete the challenge inside, and whether you manage to pass said challenge or not, leaving this room will grant you the option of just returning to your hideout. You likely encountered a few of the eight SPECTRA challenge doors during your first playthrough, and no matter who was in your party, nobody knew the secret of the doors. The story reason you are going back through the tracks is that Peppermint gets a strange reading, this strange reading in question is that the SPECTRA doors are now finally unlocked.
